Yesterday (8/21) at 2:30pm our office scheduled a 5pm pick-up for a FedEx envelope containing a check for a large sum of money to be delivered by the end of the next day to an address in the same state as our office. We rec'd a call from FedEx at 4pm asking if we could extend the pick-up time from 5pm to 5:30pm.
Unfortunately our office closes @ 5pm, so, instead of leaving the FedEx envelope just sitting outside the front door of our office building on the sidewalk in the rain, we told the operator (who called US, mind you) that the FedEx envelope would be left in the HUGE mailbox at the bottom of the driveway for the driver to pick-up. She said that would be fine & she would tell the driver.
Surprise! The FedEx envelope was still sitting in the mailbox this morning (8/22) when we came into the office. We called FedEx & they admitted that the operator had a 'problem communicating to the driver where the envelope was left for pick-up'.
Ok, so FedEx made a mistake. Now how does FedEx offer to fix THEIR mistake & still get this check to it's destination by the end of today? By offering us a same-day delivery option for an additional $250!!!
We, the customer, who is not at fault, must pay an additional $250 to FedEx for THEIR mistake?!? Looks like our company will be cancelling our FedEx account & taking our business to another delivery service.
