I shipped three packages each contained one photograph between two pieces of corrugated plastic i dropped at fed ex/kinko office.. Being less than a 3/4 inch thick each, fed ex converted actual weight of 1.2 lb and made it 6 lb, .7 to 1lb and .8 to 4lb, +fuel surcharge, which was just the beginning of added on charges, then the residential charge of $4.15 each, but the killer was $12 per package because I made my own envelopes for the flat packages.
The mistake I made was not holding up the line and making the fed ex kinko employee weight and measure and explain every charge before letting them have my pre payed ground package.[I had an account] One reason I USED fed ex was because I didn't have to do the line, I will simply return to the post office or ups at staples in the future so I know what all the add on charges will be. So three simple light flat packages cost $89 to ship.
Customer service recommended I read the shipping manual next time. I doubt there will be a next time.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
