First, NEVER drop package at USPS or a private company shipping center (e.g. PostalMax). Invariably, the package languishes in the USPS system for 2-4 weeks before being returned to FedEx at the original shipping city.

Second, EVEN if you take it to the actual FedEx office, FedEx often gets it mixed up with other priority shipments, where it languishes in the FedEx system, until they return it to the originating city to the "Smartpost" center.

Third, calling FedEx may help if it seems stalled. On two occasions, the packages started moving again a day or two after I called.

Fourth, it is only covered for loss if FedEx has proof its within their system. See #1 above.

Finally, just pay the extra $1-2 for a real service. This is worse than "Media Mail".
