I had a package delivered from Los Angeles to San Diego (it is about 2.5 hours away). The deliverer paid for FEDEX ground (estimated 3-10 days).

It actually arrived in San Diego the next morning. However, FEDEX refuses to deliver the item and updates state "NOT SCHEDULED FOR DELIVERY". When I called to inquire why it isn't being delivered, I was told that they only deliver for what is paid, so they are keeping it for a minimum of 3 days, even though it arrived the next day. They refused to deliver it early.

Why? If you have the package, deliver it as soon as possible. Everyone knows that packages that are close-by will arrive sooner.

No reason to hold packages, except for spite. I will request to never use FEDEX again.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.

I didn't like: Delivery practice, Lack of first call resolution.

Reasons your package wasn't delivered early other than spite:

1) Drivers go out with a truck full of packages due to be delivered that day. They are not going to work an extra 2 or 3 hours to deliver all the packages that arrived at the station early.

They are entitled to lives outside of work. That trumps you getting your package early. Life is not all about you.

2) It's a for profit business. You want it sooner, pay for expedited shipping or wait for charities to get into the delivery business.

Stop being a selfish ***. The world does not revolve around you.
