9/25/08 Fedex arrived about 9:10 a.m.to deliver a large package and placed it right in the middle of my desk.

I signed for it and the abrasive woman demanded, "What's your last name?" We don't provide last names. This old curmudgeon litterly laid accross this large box she had placed in the middle of my desk and ordered me to write down my last name. I finally wrote down "a" last name and had to endure her very bad behavior. Can this company truly be so desperate to hire such creatures?

Guess do.

what are my legal rights if fedex left the package with the wrong person (next door neighbor whom i dont speak to) and allowed the unauthorized person SIGN for my package.?

They just need the last name so the sender of the package can ensure that it was recieved by the proper person. If you didn't recieve your package, and the tracking # shows you that it was delivered..wouldn't you want to know who signed for your merchandise?
